During empower hour and/or before or after school, students well be assigned a time to study or make-up missed assignments.The following rules apply to an assigned empower periods:

1.Students are required to bring work with them to the study period.Failure to do so will result in a parent and guidance phone call and possibly lunch detention.

2.Assigned empower periods are to be considered as a remediation class; therefore, students are to be prompt and prepare for the class.Regular school tardy rules apply to assigned empower periods.


3.Class attendance will be taken each day during an empower-hour class; therefore, students not accounted for will be referred for disciplinary action.

4.Without exception, students will not be released to any other location without signed planner pass from teacher, counselor, or administrator indicating destination, time, and date.Signed passes are required for all destinations in the building including the clinic, main office, guidance offices and restrooms.


5.Sleeping in an empower-hour class is not permitted.Students who are physically able to work and study in the remediation period should be referred to the clinic.

6.Assigned study periods/empower-hour periods are established for a singular purpose: to provide a quiet and undisturbed location for students to study, read and write.
